WHAT IS A PENILE PROSTHESIS?
Reliable assistance where you need it, when you need it.
Just like a knee or hip replacement restores mobility and lifestyle, a penile prosthesis is a discreet, surgically implanted device that restores erectile function, confidence, and spontaneity for men with severe erectile dysfunction.

Inflatable cylinders
Placed on either side of the penis, they fill the spaces that previously filled with blood to provide a strong erection for as long as a couple desires.
Pump
Situated discretely in the scrotum, the pump transfers saline between the reservoir and cylinders to create an erection.
Saline reservoir
Holds the saline needed to fill the cylinders when not sexually active and sits behind the abdominal wall.

FAQs ABOUT PENILE PROSTHESIS
Important questions to ask your doctor before choosing treatment.
How effective are penile prostheses?
Penile prosthesis recipients and their partners report the highest satisfaction of any ED treatment. The reason? No more ED. You can have sex anytime in 15-20 seconds, often faster than a natural erection, for as long and as often as you want – without limits.
Will I be able to enjoy sex in the same way?
You will retain the same sensation, orgasm, and ejaculation ability as before the procedure. After a 4- to 6-week recovery, you can resume all sexual activity with confidence, knowing your erection will be reliable.
Does a penile prosthesis change the size of my penis?
Penile prosthesis do not increase penis size – your surgeon will select the size that fits your natural anatomy. However, they do prevent further shortening caused by ED or Peyronie’s disease by stopping atrophy and loss of smooth muscle.
Will my partner notice the implant?
Your partner will notice your confidence, not the implant. Once inserted, penile implants are fully concealed within the penis and scrotum. When deactivated, your penis remains completely flaccid. Scars fade within weeks. In fact, penile prothesis is the ED treatment with the highest satisfaction rate for partners.
How long does an implant last?
Eighty-seven percent of implants still function after 15 years. If yours ever stops working, an expert, specialized IPP surgeon can replace it.
